Scioscia to Speak at Baseball Coaches Clinic

Head Coach Darin Erstad and has announced the time and date of the 2013 Nebraska Baseball Coaches Clinic, which will feature Mike Scioscia, manager of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
The clinic is set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at both the Hawks Championship Center and the Haymarket Park Indoor Facility.
This clinic is for high school coaches, college coaches, youth baseball coaches and anyone else that wants to learn more about the game of baseball from the Husker coaching staff.
Coach Erstad will be joined by Associate Head Coach Will Bolt, Pitching Coach Ted Silva and volunteer assistant Jeff Christy. This group has a wealth of baseball knowledge and it is their goal to help you make your kids better baseball players.
The price of the one-day clinic is $85 per person, but participants can save $5 by registering online at A continental breakfast and lunch are included in the price.
Hotel rooms have been blocked under Nebraska Baseball Coaches Clinic at the Embassy Suites/Downtown (402-474-1111) on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at a special rate of $99.00/room.
Tickets to the Nebraska Baseball Banquet on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at the Embassy Suites are also available for $50. The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and Scioscia will be the guest speaker.
Fall Coaches Clinic Set for Nov. 2
The Nebraska wrestling team will host the 2012 Fall Coaches Clinic featuring Brad Vering on Nov. 2 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
For a cost of $120, each coach gets an NSAA Wrestling Rules Clinic, technique sessions, a gift, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. The event starts with registration and breakfast at 9:15 a.m., in the north concourse of the Devaney Center.
At 10:30 a.m., Head Coach Mark Manning will welcome all the coaches. The rest of the morning will consist of a wrestling rules clinic presented by Ron Higdon from the Nebraska High School Athletic Association.
In the afternoon, former Husker wrestler and NCAA champion Brad Vering will present two sessions on wrestling techniques. At 5 p.m., a tour is available to view the new Hendricks Wrestling Training Complex. The Nebraska Wrestle-Offs will start at 7 p.m., at the Devaney Center.
