Lopers Had Two Indoor All-Americans, Looking for More in Pueblo |
The Nebraska-Kearney track & field team will be sending eight men and two women to the 2013 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships May 23-25 in Pueblo, Colo.
For a second straight year, RMAC-member Colorado State-Pueblo hosts this meet at the Neta & Eddie DeRosa ThunderBowl. A top eight finish in any event is good for All-American honors.
In March, Marissa Bongers (3rd/800 meters) and Dillon Schrodt (7th/heptathlon) earned All-American honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Alabama. UNK’s other two qualifiers were Tanner Fruit (13th/5,000 meters) and Mark Seeba (pole vault).
Last May, Paul Pape (8th/800) and Marty Molina (7th/triple jump) cracked the top eight. Molina also was an All-American in 2012 (indoors & outdoors) in the triple.
