Smith still plans to help save rural post offices|
Earlier this week we told you about Congressman Adrian Smith’s plan to help save rural post offices in Nebraska. A spokesman for the Postal Service says no legislation is needed to prevent the closings of rural post offices, because the service has backed off of that proposal. Brian Sperry says the Postal Service has no plans now to close rural post offices. It, instead, will adapt to survive. Sperry says the Postal Service has worked with rural Nebraska communities to keep their post offices open, though open for fewer hours in a day.
