Research on Nebraska's water resources being proposed|
Nebraska's water resources will be studied by a special task force under a bill advancing to final reading in the legislature. Senator Tom Carlson of Holdrege tells colleagues a thorough study of the issue is overdue. Carlson says the irrigation districts and Natural Resources Districts have cut back on water use the past few years. The task force will advise the legislature on how best to sustain the state's resources, from the Ogallala Aquifer to its rivers.
