Downtown Hastings Celebration of Lights|
The Celebration of Lights in Downtown Hastings has become a tradition in welcoming the holiday season to Hastings and the surrounding communities. The Celebration of lights will be held on Thursday, November 21st from 5-8 pm in Downtown Hastings. Santa Claus and Kool-Aid man will light the lights at 7:15 pm, even the Grinch can't stop this from happening!
Activities from 5-8 pm include the following:
Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, (NEW) Children’s Carnival, Live Stage Entertainment, Light Sticks and Glow Jewelry, Giant Inflatables Children Games Area, (NEW) Game Trailer, CASA Caravan of Lighted Semi’s, See Santa 5-7p, Specials in our Downtown Cafés and Restaurants, Carolers, Brass Ensemble, (NEW) A Reading of The Night Before Christmas by The Grinch, Food Truck and Trailer Extravaganza, Bake Sales, Hot Ciders and Hot Cocoa!!
The Live Stage Entertainment will include: A proclamation from Mayor Vern Powers, The Longfellow Ambassadors, T-Dance, South Central Taekwondo, Hastings Middle School, St. Cecilia Singers, Danceworks, YWCA Dancers, and more.
**Grinch will read 'The Night Before Christmas' at the following locations:
The Well Read Book: 5:15
Prairie Books and Gifts: 6:15
**This year the CASA Semi Caravan will be located at 2nd St and go UP to Denver. These 8 Decorated Semi Cabs will be available for viewing inside and out.
In addition to the over 4 miles of white LED lights outlining the roofline, each light pole, street corner and merchant front will be decorated with white lights.
