Manhart Makes SID All-Region Team|
Nebraska-Kearney junior left tackle Cole Manhart has been named to the 2013 Daktronics All-Central Region team.
This squad is chosen by sports information directors. The Central Region is made up the MIAA (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association), NSIC (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference), GAC (Great American Conference) and the GNAC (Great Northwest Athletic Conference).
Manhart (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), one of 28 MIAA players to make the squad, was chosen to the first-team. He now moves onto the national ballot where he could earn All-American honors.
A unanimous first-team All-MIAA pick and a 2013 Loper co-captain, Manhart blocked for a ground game that ranked sixth in the conference in rushing offense at 203.7 yards per game. He also was an "h" back in UNK's heavy package, which was unveiled in the fifth contest of the season, a 56-6 win over Lindenwood.
Henderson State (Ark.) junior QB Kevin Rodgers was named the region Offensive Player of the Year while NW Missouri State junior end Matt Longacre was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Year.
