The Hastings College Women's Basketball Team bounced back after a tough loss to Dakota Wesleyan to knock off Nebraska Wesleyan 56-49 on Wednesday night.
The Broncos had to overcome a tough night at the line going only 10-22 but NWU did not have any answer on the offensive end. The Prairie Wolves were only able to connect on just over 33 percent from the floor.
Hastings didn't shoot much better hitting just under 37 percent from the floor but did just enough to come out on top.
The Broncos were led by Chelsey Morten with 12 points along with Melissa Thompson as she had 11. Mallory Shanahan led all scores for NWU with 20 points.
With the win, Hastings improves to 7-5 (3-2) on the season. The Broncos will be looking to continue their winning ways but it will not be easy as they will be hosting perennial power house Briar Cliff Saturday December 8 with tip-off set for 2:00 p.m.
The Hastings College Men's Basketball Team stayed strong from the free-throw line as the Broncos knocked off Nebraska Wesleyan Wednesday night 64-58.
It was not a good night for either team shooting the ball from the floor but the difference in the game came from the charity stripe.
Hastings finished the night 17-20 from the line compared to just 13-24 for the Prairie Wolves.
Hastings was led by Brady Lollman as he led all scorers with 16 points while Dane Bacon finished with 14 and Dylan Flinn finished with 13. NWU was led by Trevor Johnson as he finished with 13 points.
The Broncos also managed to force 19 turnovers while only committing just 14 of their own.
Hastings improves to 10-2 (3-2) and will be back in action against Briar Cliff at home Saturday December 8 with tip-off set for 4:00 p.m.
