A Lancaster county jury has found former Nebraska football player Alfonzo Dennard guilty of third degree assault on a police officer and resisting arrest in connection with an incident that occurred on April 21st in downtown Lincoln. The assault charge is a felony that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Resisting arrest is a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. Sentencing has been set for April 11th. Dennard now plays for the New England Patriots.
