Bronco Volleyball Falls in 5|
Hastings - Yet another one of the top volleyball teams in the country finds a way to avoid falling the Hastings as the Broncos climbed out of a 2-0 hole only to fall in five sets to NAIA No. 7 Midland 20-25, 25-27, 25-16, 25-23, 11-15 on Pink night Wednesday night at Lynn Farrell Arena.
The Broncos dug an early hole trailing two sets to none but bounced back keeping the Warriors at bay in set three winning 25-16. The Broncos would ride that momentum taking game four and held a 10-7 lead in the fourth set.
But there is a reason Midland is rated No. 7 in the country as the Warriors ran off seven straight points and eight of the final nine of the match to knock off the Bronco upset bid.
Katie Zoucha led the Bronco attack as she finished the night with 13 kills. Shayna Schacher added 10 for the match.
Chandelle Davidson led the Broncos with 36 assists.
The Broncos finished the match with a game high 19 blocks.
KC Heimann led the way for the Warriors as she finished with a match high 16 kills.
With the loss, Hastings falls to 19-11 (10-4) on the season and will be back in action Saturday Nov. 2 as Mount Marty comes to town with first serve set for 2:30 p.m. at Lynn Farrell Arena.
