Posted: 02/12/14 09:57

Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning says he knows what it takes to be Governor and that hell fight for Nebraska. That was the message he shared with potential voters in Hastings this afternoon. The 44-year-old Republican joins the crowded GOP primary about three months before the May 13 primary. Bruning lost in the republican primary bid for U.S Senate two years ago to Deb Fischer. He says hes had time to reflect, and realizes now, where he belongs.
Just a few months ago, Bruning had surgery to remover cancerous pollups on his colon. Bruning says it helped him refocus his priorities. Also running in the GOP primary are Omaha businessman Pete Ricketts, State Auditor Mike Foley, Omaha tax attorney Bryan Slone and Nebraska state Sens. Tom Carlson and Beau McCoy. Former University of Nebraska Regent Chuck Hassebrook is unopposed in the Democratic primary.
