Jon Bruning violated public disclosure|
A state panel has ruled that Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning violated a public disclosure law when he failed to report his ownership stake in a $675,000 lake home. The Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission approved a settlement with the Republican attorney general. Bruning could have faced a $2,000 fine, but the commission voted 8-0 not to assess a penalty. Chief Deputy Attorney General David Cookson says it was an accidental, technical violation. He says the home switched hands for a few months in 2009, when it was being refinanced.
