Policy study says Medicaid expansion bad for Nebraska|
The same group that released the study on prison reform in Nebraska last week says Medicaid expansion is a bad prescription for Nebraska. The Platte Institute for Economic Research is releasing its policy study on what they’re calling detrimental effects of Medicaid expansion and LB887 today. CEO Jim Vokal says the Wellness in Nebraska act will fail to meet its intended goals and puts Nebraska taxpayers at significant risk. Sen. Kathy Campbell proposed the bill to give working, low-income Nebraskans better access to health care. The federal government has promised to pay at least 90 percent of the costs for newly eligible residents.
