Nebraska Supreme Court to look at Gaurdianship

Nebraska Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Heavican says the courts are working to fix problems with the state's guardianship system that were uncovered by a recent state audit. He said courts are developing an internal audit system for guardianship cases. The audit found mismanagement of state payment programs to legal guardians for the blind, elderly and disabled, including one suspected fraud case involving a Bayard woman who was appointed as a guardian to more than 600 people throughout Nebraska.
