Bronco Women Roll Midland|
The Hastings College women's basketball team continues to play some of their best basketball as we head down the home stretch knocking off Midland University Wednesday night 73-56 at Lynn Farrell Arena.
It didn't take long for Hastings to get things going from behind the arc leading 19-16, the Broncos would run off three straight three-pointers including two from Tanasia Uhrig to open up a quick 13 point advantage. The Broncos would finish the night hitting nearly 53 percent from downtown.
Midway through the second half the Warriors would cut the deficit to just five at 45-40 but Laurel Zwiener would hit a free-throw and Cami Bruckman would can a three stretching the lead back to nine and Hastings would never look back.
The Broncos were led by Bruckman as she led all scorers with 21 points on 5-12 from the floor but 3-5 from behind the three-point line. Brittney Wong added 12 while Halley Samuelson had 10.
Midland was led by Joelle Anderson as she finished with 15 points.
With the win Hastings improves to 13-12 (8-7) on the season and will be back in action Saturday February 2 as the Broncos will travel to Sioux Center, IA to take on Dordt with tip-off set for 2:00 p.m..
