Hastings Splits With Mount Marty

Yankton, SD - The Hastings College Women's Basketball Team could not slow down the hot shooting Mount Marty Lancers as the Broncos fell 80-67 on Saturday afternoon.
April Winne and the Lancers started the game hot and never slowed down shooting better than 56 percent from the floor to just 35 percent for the Broncos.
Winne led all scorers with 24 points hitting on 6-9 from the floor but also nailed 12-15 free throws helping MMC to 5-4 in conference play.
Hastings was led by Cami Bruckman as she had another solid night finishing with 20 points on 6-12 shooting. Laurel Zwiener finished the game with 11.
With the loss Hastings falls to 9-10 (4-5) on the season and will have its hands full Tuesday night Jan. 8 as they will travel to Seward, NE to take on NAIA No. 1 Concordia with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. Concordia fell for the first time this season Saturday to Dordt in double overtime 96-86.


Yankton, SD - The Hastings College Men's Basketball Team took its game into the paint where Mount Marty had no answer for Dylan Flinn and the Broncos as Hastings came away with the 87-62 victory.
Hastings which usually gets plenty of its offense from behind the three-point line only hit four of them so pounding the ball inside proved to be the answer. The Broncos finished the game hitting just over 57 percent from the floor while only shooting 25 percent from behind the arc.
Flinn showed his presence all night hitting on 7-10 from the floor and 7-9 from the line to lead all scorers with a career high 21 points. Dane Bacon, Brady Lollman and Jake Hamburger all also finished in double digits.
Saladin Smith led the Lancers with 16 points on 6-10 shooting from the floor.
The game turned in the Broncos favor with just over 8:30 remaining in the first half as the Broncos went on a 15-0 run and would never look back.
With the win, Hastings improves to 14-5 (5-4) on the season and will look to improve on that mark as they will travel to Seward, NE Wednesday Jan. 9 to take on a reeling Concordia squad with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
