“Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night at the Oregon Trail Rodeo at the Adams County Fairgrounds Hastings on Saturday, September 4 at 7:30 p.m. Wear pink to the rodeo and $1 will be donated for breast cancer treatment to the Morrison Cancer Center at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Lawrence Volunteer Fire and Rescue will hold their 20th Annual Road Rally on Sunday, September 5. Line up at ball field at 2 p.m. Hamburgers and brats will be served from 4-8 p.m. & a Street Dance will be held from 9 to midnight. Sponsored by LVFD and Dick’s Place

The September business meeting of the Board of Directors of The Central Nebraska Public Power & Irrigation District is scheduled for Tuesday, September 7, starting at 9 a.m. at the Holdrege office. A current agenda is available at the office of the Assistant Secretary.

The Westernaires Square Dance will hold a pot luck supper and Mainstream dancing on Tuesday September 7 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Hastings Police Station Auditorium.

If you are interested in making a donation for the Hastings Federal Credit Unions annual fall bake sale & silent auction on September 15-17. Please arrange to have items picked up or delivered to the credit union by Friday, September 10. For more information call 463-6668. The Grand Island Veterans Home will hold their 11th Annual Benefit Classic Car & Bike Show at 2300 West Capital Ave in Grand Island on Sunday, September 12. Registration is from 10-1, show from 1-3, voting closes at 3 Awards in Gazebo at 3:30. Food Vendors will include Potato Hut. All proceeds go to “Staff For Santa”. A Horseshoe pitching contest will be held at the  school grounds in Paulin on Sunday (September 12) starts at 1:30pm. Divisions for all ages, prizes will be given. Ice cream and cake will be served after the contest. Call 402-771-2365 for more information

Hastings Federal Credit Union will be teaming up with Children’s Miracle Network for its annual Miracle Jeans Day campaign. During the campaign, staff members will be showing their support by going casual & wearing official campaign t-shirts & jeans, September 15-17. At this time, the credit union will also be holding its annual fall bake sale & conducting a silent auction. All event proceeds will be used towards the Children’s Miracle Network ambulance drive.

Benefit Mud Race will be held in  Hazard at Trotter Fertilizer Plant will be held on Saturday, September. 25. Check in is 10a.m. to 12:45p.m. Races start at 1p.m. Cost is $5 per person, children under 10 free. Driver’s entry fee $20. A Raffle drawing will also be held. All proceeds to go to Isabella Hill, a 3 yr old from Comstock who has undergone surgery to
